Introduction
The Institute of Sathya Sai Education, Australia (ISSE) was established to propagate Sathya Sai Education in the Human Values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-Violence.
The Institute is overseeing the introduction of EHV in several schools. It runs orientation workshops for the teachers, develops the EHV program for the children, teachers and parents and trains the teachers in EHV methodology. The Institute has been holding lectures, workshops and radio talks in several countries where it has also initiated EHV for parents. It has also been instrumental in implementing the EHV program at the post-graduate level.
The ISSE is currently collaborating with the UN Habitat to deliver Values based Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education in several Asian countries.
The Institute has one Sathya Sai School in Murwillumbah in northern New South Wales. This school is acting as the model of human values in the local community and for local state schools.
The Institute was instrumental in initiating a Masters in Learning Management Course (MLM) in Human Values in the University of Central Queensland (UCQ).
The Diploma and Advanced Diploma Courses of the Institute are accredited for the MLM Course in the UCQ. Our first Masters' student has recently graduated and has been awarded the Masters degree with distinction by the University of Central Queensland
Purpose and Mission of the Institute
The Institute of Sathya Sai Education recognises that:
- Three institutes shape the lives of children - the home, the school and society.
- Our future depends upon the knowledge, understanding, skills and values that we impart to our children through these three institutes.
The Institute endorses the Adelaide (South Australia) Declaration on National Goals for Schooling in the Twenty-First Century (1999), and believe that character education is vital both for responsible citizenship and for creating a just and open society.
