The Melbourne Branch
On Sunday, 31 August, 2008, the Melbourne Branch of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education met at St Aidan's Hall, Surrey Street, Box Hill South. Dr Pal Dhall along with Dr Tehseen Dhall, of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education in Canberra were in attendance.
Ms Caroline Percic opened the evening with a short talk and welcomed all present. Approximately 30 people were in attendance.
After the introduction and welcome, Channa Seneviratne, a recent Diploma graduate, led a discussion on the book Men head East Women Turn West, How to meet in the Middle when facing Change. After a short introduction a questionaire was distributed and group work commenced, examining the preferences towards change by women and by men. After the groups reported back, there was some further discussion of the results. The meeting was then given over to Dr Pal Dhall, who gave an outline of the recent World Education Conference, and the programs which will be put in place to upgrade existing SSE teacher qualifications. The courses held at the Institute of Sathya Sai Education were previewed and an annoucement was made about conducting Diploma in Human Values courses in Melbourne.

It is proposed to build up a strong resource area and knowledge base into Human Values, and this is available for any who is interested in education and human values education.
Regular meetings will continue on the Last Sunday of each month, 10.30am at St Aidan's Church in Box Hill South, and students will present book reviews with a focus on research into Human Values.
